Taobao, the Alibaba-owned online shopping network in China, has launched a short-vide service app. It’s called Lu Ke, which according to the South China Morning Post was chosen as a play on the word, Look, and it’s designed for a variety of purposes, including to showcase products available in the store.
Categories in the app include travel, food, and beauty; but the most interesting is for users to upload videos of products, ready for others to see and subsequently buy in the Taobao store. The video will contain a link directing those interested to the correct page.
